Our plan was to see the giant trees at Sequoia National Park, but along we the way we discovered King's Valley. The Valley is huge - much larger than Yosemite Valley.

King's Valley is interesting to explore. The road through it is cut into the side of a cliff. There are many gorges and flowing streams to see.

We made a short hike up to this unusual waterfall on the Rushing River in King's Valley.

We visited the General Grant tree, which is the widest tree on earth, and the 3rd largest by volume. The big trees in my yard are 40 feet high, but this tree is 40 feet wide!.

Here we visited the largest living creature on earth (if you don't count fungus), General Sherman tree. It is just uncanny to walk through a forest of giants and then come upon a tree that makes the giants look small.

We encoutered some wildlife, including this rather tame deer that took a liking to Sarah.

The last hike of the day was up Moro Rock in Sequoia National Park, giving an amazing overview of the area. Here is the sunset, which was followed by a night trip down that widing road.
